On Saturday November 22, 2025, the IV Street Club held our inaugural single-day Sniff Tournament. A small but mighty crew of players attended and vied for the crown at Sunnybrook G.C.

Games Chair Larry Richardson reports that Bayard Fiechter vanquished the competitive field and is our 2025 IV Street Sniff Champion. Bayard is a repeat Champion, having won the tournament a number of years ago (he couldn’t recall which year, and we don’t have the Championship Plaque handy).
The other competitors were George Mason, Albert Oehrle and Richardson.
The Sniff Tournament has historically been held in the Fall as a series of self-arranged matches over several months. However, starting this year, the Tournament is now an in-person event held on a single day or two depending on the number of competitors.
The Club plans to poll the interested Sniff players to gauge the best time of year to hold this championship. The hope is to make the event more easily available to all interested competitors.
Get out your tiles and start practicing!
